About me: Few lines about me and my paintings My creative principle is based on some associative and symbolic fantasies verging on delirium. My paintings are a sort of kaleidoscope of impressions from my own life and the life of the country I live in. Each work is in one sense an illustration of dreams where elements of the reality can hypertrophy, take the form of grotesque or even absurdity. Too "correct", rather stiff and affected atmosphere often reigning at art exhibitions sometimes bores and discontents. Paintings often seem high professional stamped toasts at an official table (and this is regardless of the degree of proficiency). This causes a wish to see something new, maybe unused as to the form and content, sometimes with jesting and sometimes just with sarcasm. Excessive seriousness is of no use at all, because mixing with near relations and friends we don't speak officially but just joke, say sarcastic things and tell anecdotes having no sense to take umbrage about. I see my dialogue with a viewer by means of my works approximately in such a way. Biography of the artist Vladimir Viktorovich Loshakov was born in Voronezh on March 20, 1969, in artist's family. In 1984 he entered the Voronezh Art School and completed it in 1988. He served in the army from 1988 to 1990 in the Kantemirov division in the city of Narofominsk. He worked as a sceneshifter in the Voronezh Puppet Show Theatre from 1990 to 1991. From 1991 to 1993 he did illustrations for comics for one of publishing houses. Only one of the comics he created (Ryurik) saw the light of day. From 1994 to 1998 he worked on murals (monumental paintings) in different Russian cities. Somewhat more than for five years, exactly from August 1998 to November 2003, he was completely immersed in the work on easel painting. The paintings created during this period are presented on the site. At present he is engaged in the computer graphics while making computer games. |
